Rachel is a very welcome addition to our team and adds over a decade of IDES experience to our, already, over 100 years of military and JAG experience. She has represented over 1000, yes, one thousand, Service Members at various stages in the DES process. She lives the dream near Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a dual-career lawyer and Mom.
As a paratrooper and Special Operations Command “go to” lawyer, she brings her wide breadth of IDES knowledge to CitizenSoldierLaw’s clients. She is well-versed in VA claims and the service ratings (VASRD) as well military disability processing, including the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), line of duty (LOD), “combat codes” and their relation to Combat-related Special Compensation (CRSC) and related military administrative issues.
Before joining Citizen Soldier Law, Rachel served in progressively senior roles with the Office of Soldiers’ Counsel (OSC), Army JAG Corps. Most recently, she was a Regional Supervisory Counsel based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she supervised a regional team of approximately 15 personnel supporting OSC offices at Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, Fort Stewart, Fort Campbell, and Fort Polk. She has relationships with the personnel at the PEB, Physical Disability Agency and has vast experience with PEBLOs, Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), the VA M21-1 Adjudication Procedures Manual (M21) and Narrative Summary (NARSUM).
Rachel received her Juris Doctorate from Liberty University School of Law in 2011 and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in 2007. Rachel is married to an active-duty Army Officer and is the proud mom of three active boys and two dogs. As a military spouse, Rachel has supported her family through multiple deployments and five PCS moves.
